UL Cyberpark Kozhikode Inauguration in April: Major IT companies To Start Operations
The much awaited and the first IT park of Malabar and Kozhikode, UL Cyberpark will be inaugurated next month, in April 2015. According to media reports the Uralungal Cyber park popularly knows as UL Park will be inaugurated by the President of India. The exact date of inauguration depends on President’s convenience.
The most encouraging news is that the UL park will have major multinational and domestic IT companies. The confirmed IT companies includes Ernst & Young and Mentor. Companies such as E&Y is definitely a great news to the IT future of Kozhikode.
The Rs.270 crore Park is designed to support IT development and BPO companies. Initially the first phase is expected to generate 3000 to 5000 direct employments and much more indirect employments. The SEZ park will definitely going to change the city of Calicut. The high paying IT jobs and the spending habits of IT professional will change the business, housing, tourism, healthcare and entertainment landscape of Kozhikode city.
It is expected that ULCCS’s own IT division UL Tech Solutions also will expand its operations from UL Cyberpark Kozhikode.
The .482 million SFT IT park building is a Leed Gold Standard certified building that has ten floors. Around 3500 IT professionals can work from the building at an given time. The building will also house banks, ATMs, meeting halls, training rooms, conference rooms, food Court and travel counters. Three underground floors are reserved for parking.
The Cyberpark Office also will be moving to the new IT park building. Currently it is functioning from the park center building. Already there are few start-up companies functioning from the park center building.
Already mushrooming housing sector of the city will get a boost once the UL Cyberpark starts functioning. The presence of major IT companies will attract more and more software professional to the city and that will increase the demand for high quality housing solutions. All related sectors will see a sudden increase in demand.
