Hrishikesh Nair becomes Kozhikode Cyberpark CEO and Kerala Gets High Power IT Committee
Kerala government has constituted a high power IT committee for the development of the sector. The committee chaired by S D Shibulal,
who is the former CEO of Infosys. The other prominent names in the 12-member panel include Kris Gopalakrishnan(former CEO, Infosys, Ajith Balakrishnan(former CEO, Rediff Mail), Duleep Sahadevan(Software Associates), Anthony Thomas(CIO, GE India), V K Mathews, executive chairman, IBS Group and Dinesh Thampi(vice-president, TCS), IT Secretary M Sivasankar,NASSCOM regional director Ashok Pammidi,IIM Kozhikode faculty Saji Gopinath, Ernst and Young director Rajesh Nair, Hrishikesh R Nair, the CEO of Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark.
The high power IT committee expected to bring in uniformity in IT operations in the state as currently it is scattered under Technopark, Infopark and Cyberpark Kozhikode. This is a very good news for all IT parks in Kerala, especially recently started Kozhikode Cyberpark. Hope the all these Stalwarts of Indian IT industry as part of the high power committee will help to give the right direction to make the Cyberpark one of the best IT destination of south India like Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
Also Hrishikesh Nair lead IT park integration currently and brings all the three IT parks in the state under one umbrella. Shri. Hrishikesh R Nair apponited as the Chief Executive officer of all the three Govt. IT parks in the state – Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram , Infopark, Kochi and Cyberpark, Kozhikode.
Hope this will bring more focus and energy to the IT facilities of Kozhikode Cyberpark. Hrishikesh was appointed CEO of Infopark, Kochi in 2013 and was appointed the CEO of Technopark in 2016 with additional charge of Infopark, Kochi.With this appointment Shri. Hrishikesh R Nair will also hold additional charge of CEO, Cyberpark, Kozhikode. Hrishikesh will replace incumbent Ajith Kumar R, who did a great job and under his tenure, the work of 2.88-lakh sq. ft. building of Cyberpark has been completed and is now ready for occupation.
Kozhikode Cyberpark is already seeing noticeable growth and It is reported that 80% of the space of UL Cyberpark is already leased out to various IT companies. Media reports that UL Cyberpark is started design of their second IT building in Kozhikode. UL Cyberpark recently inked a contract with FullContact Inc., a US based technology company that provides a suite of cloud-based contact management solutions for businesses, developers, and individuals. The company leased out one lakh square feet(100000 sq.ft) of office space in UL Cyberpark and will start their operations in few months. Currently Fullcontact has a regional office in Kochi. Also recently Aster IT, the IT division of Aster Medical Services opened their IT operations office in UL Cyberpark. All these news indicates a positive growth of IT is Kozhikode.
Air connectivity to major domestic and international destinations in vital to the growth of any IT industry. Media also reports that there are discussions going on with airline companies to start daily flights from Bangalore to Kozhikode.
