UST Global, IBS, Ernst and Young Coming to Cyberpark Kozhikode?
Destination Calicut Road Shows
During the Destination Calicut Road shows held in Bangalore to promote the Cyberpark Kozhikode, CEO Ajith Kumar R explained the advantages of Kozhikode as an IT destination and why companies should consider setting their centers there. Kozhikode is a well established Tier-II city in Kerala with an international airport. He said global companies, including UST Global, IBS, Ernst and Young, among others, have evinced interest in locating at the Cyberpark. Kozhikode a well know educational hub with premium institutes such as IIM Kozhikode, NIT and many other well know technical and management institutes. Many small sized companies are already operation from Startup village of UL Cyberpak.
The event was attended by Kerala Minister for Information Technology P K Kunhalikutty,former Infosys CEO Kris Gopalakrishnan and many officials from Kerala IT ministry. There was a good participation from various IT companies in Bangalore. The Kerala government highlighted the clean and green ambiance at the two IT parks on the outskirts of the city during the road show and promotional event held in Bengaluru.
According to the media, following the warm response received by their destination marketing road show and promotional event in Bengaluru, Kerala IT department and Cyber Park Kozhikode are planning two more promotional events aiming to bring in major investors to the upcoming IT Park in Kozhikode. Mumbai and Dubai, two major IT hubs will be the venues for the destination marketing events by the Kerala IT department.
Destination Calicut road shows will be held in other places under the aegis of the national association of software and services companies (NASSCOM).
Cyberpark To Be Ready By December 2015
According to the Government of Kerala, Cyberpark will be ready for business by December 2015, with a total area of 42 acres and has 30 acres of notified SEZ area that offers 1-3 acre plots for 90-year leases at competitive rates.
Calicut Cyberpark is the third major IT facility established by the State government under the hub-and-spoke infrastructure model, after the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark in Kochi.UL Cyberpark is almost completed its construction phase and Goverment Cyberpark is getting ready fast, the IT dreams of Malabar is again sprouting.
The construction of the park’s first building, with three lakh sq ft workspace, is almost complete and will be ready by the end of 2015. The building will have one lakh sq ft of plug-and-play facility and two lakh sq ft of warm shell space for companies.
